Prof. Nikki Philips
Dean, Nursing and Midwifery, Deakin University, Australia
Professor Nicole (Nikki) Phillips is the Dean of Nursing and Midwifery at Deakin University and has led the School since 2018.

Nikki leads one of the largest Nursing and Midwifery Schools in Australia with courses offered on four campuses and online. The School is ranked #15 in the world for nursing* and Nikki is committed to quality nursing and midwifery courses that incorporate evidence-based practice, person-centred care, quality and risk management and improving patient outcomes. The School’s research is recognised as well above world standard with a focus on improving health care quality and patient safety, through the Centre for Quality and Patient Safety.

Nikki’s research has focused on evidence-based risk management strategies to prepare graduates to deliver quality and safe patient care. With vast experience, Nikki’s teaching and learning research investigates best practice approaches to learning and teaching within a quality and safety framework for curricula.

Through the School’s partnerships with health services, government stakeholders, and the diverse communities we collaborate with, we address present health care needs whilst shaping the future. The School’s graduates drive transformational, innovative change in health care while addressing current needs to shape our future.
