CREATING INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS THROUGH RESEARCH

The Faculty of Humanities and Sciences reached another milestone in research by holding its third consecutive conference on the 11th October 2022.

The conference theme for this scholarly venture was ‘Creating Innovative Solutions through Research’ setting the platform for 55 local and international presenters of diverse disciplines to disseminate knowledge. Subject-specific and multidisciplinary conference papers in the fields of Natural Sciences, Nursing and Health Sciences, Law, Psychology, Education, English Language and Literature, and Mathematics and Statistics were selected after a double blind peer review process by eminent scholars in the respective fields.

Prof. Katherine B. Ensor the President of American Statistical Association from the University of Rice, USA graced the occasion as the keynote speaker of SICASH 2022. Furthermore, the plenary speeches conducted by Dr. Subhashinie Wijesundera Dr. Romola Rassool Mr. Prasantha Lal De Alwis PC. Prof. S. Sanjeewa Nishantha Perera Prof. Upali Samarajeewa Dr. Sunil De Silva and Prof. Piyanjali de Zoysa added to the scholarly value of SICASH 2022.

Professor Gareth Williams
Professor of Pharmaceutical Materials Science
Pharmaceutics UCL School of Pharmacy

Gareth received a MChem (Hons) degree from the University of Oxford in 2002. He remained in Oxford for a DPhil (PhD), which was completed in 2005. He then worked as a post-doctoral researcher and in science program management. In September 2010 he joined London Metropolitan University as a Senior Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Science, and in November 2012 was appointed to the UCL School of Pharmacy as a Lecturer in Pharmaceutics. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2016 and to full Professor in 2020, when he also became Head of Pharmaceutics. Gareth leads a group of around 20 researchers applying inorganic and polymer-based nanomaterials to overcome drug delivery challenges.
