Dr. Godwin Kodithuwakku is a former Director of the Department of Research and Development, National Institute of Education, Sri Lanka. At present, he is the Chairman of the Institute for Research & Development in Health & Social Care. Dr. Kodithuwakku’s field of specialization is research in education.

DR S.A. KULARATHNE

English Language & Literature Session Chair

Dr S.A. Kularathne, whose doctoral thesis is on the Bilingual Education implemented in Sri Lankan schools since 2001, is a researcher intersted in issues relating to Teaching English as a Second Language in Sri Lanka. He has presented nearly 15 papers on various dimensions in Bilingual Eduation home and abroad. International Journal of Arts and Sciences (IJAS) and International Perspectives of Bilingiaism , a collection of journal articles ,edited and published by the university of Valleta in Malta carry articles written by him.

Dr. Asanga Gunawansa

Law Session Chair

Dr. Asanga Gunawansa is an active lawyer who has more than 30 years of experience as a legal practitioner. He currently heads Colombo Law Alliance, a law Chamber in Sri Lanka specializing in Foreign Investment Law, Arbitration, Construction Law, Commercial Law, Environmental Law and legal aspects of Sustainable Development. He holds a PhD in Law from NUS while his LLM in International Economic Law was from University of Warwick. He was a Professor at NUS, Singapore and a Research Associate of the Institute of Water Policy, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, NUS. He had also functioned as a Legal Counsel for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency in Geneva and the United Nations Compensation Commission in the Middle East
